A Treble Gameweek remains a possibility

A TGW37 Treble is not an impossibility if one of Man City or Arsenal reach the last 4 in Europe & progress well in the FA Cup

Should it affect our DGW24 plans?

The schedule cock up that makes a TGW possible comes from the PL scheduling Man City v Arsenal on the same weekend as the Carabao Cup Final (GW28). That now looks highly likely to be postponed following City's 3-1 1st leg win at Old Trafford

Should both teams not make the FA Cup 5th round the game would almost certainly remain in GW28 and be played in the midweek after the Carabao Cup Final

FA Cup 4th Round
Bournemouth v Arsenal
Man City v Fulham

As Arsenal are in the Europa League only 2 midweeks remain for a rescheduled MCI v ARS fixture if Arsenal progress in Europe.
Gameweeks 34 or 37.

Should Arsenal lose to Olympiakos in the Europa last 32 the game could be rearranged for GW29 as City don't play in the UCL that midweek. Giving the following doubles

Arsenal v WHU/mci
Man City v mun/ARS

In theory the rescheduled game could be brought forward to the midweek FA Cup 4th Round replays should neither side draw in the FA Cup.

This would be GW25 doubles of

Arsenal v bur/mci
Man City v tot/ARS

However, I feel this would be too short notice to be a possibility

* #SkyFF players may notice that this is during the rescheduled Overhaul period. Imagine the carnage 😆
However 7 days notice from City's 2nd leg with United is surely too short notice for travelling Arsenal fans
*Although I'm sure AFTV would be able to get the time off

For a treble Gameweek to happen the following would need to happen
*City to reach Carabao Cup Final
*Arsenal to beat Olympiakos
*Arsenal or City to reach last 4 in both the FA Cup & in Europe

If the above happens there would then be only 2 Gameweeks (34 & 37) to fit in 3 rescheduled fixtures.

A treble can not happen in GW34 as it would need the postponement of the scheduled GW34 fixture to make the treble happen.

If... & it remains an unlikely if... a GW37 treble did happen it would look like this for Arsenal or Man City

v avl + 2 of mci/sou/LEI

Man City
v wat + 2 of ARS/che/NEW

What's the earliest we could know if a treble would happen?

I would say after the European QFs which is the midweek before GW34.

A treble will be avoided unless it's absolutely unavoidable.

In the case of Arsenal, were they to reach the last 4 in Europe & the FA Cup Semis it could be a nightmare GW37 scenario.

As they would play in Europe on the previous Thursday they would almost certainly have to play their GW37 fixtures within 5 days (Sunday-Tuesday-Thursday)

Should either make the FA Cup Semi Final but go out in the last 16 or quarter finals in Europe a Double in GWs 35 or 36 would look likely.

Arsenal v LIV + 1 of mci/sou/LEI
City v BOU + 1 of ARS/che/NEW

I highlight the above because GW37 irrespective of anything in this thread will be the GW with the most doubles & therefore the best time to use Bench Boost imo.

But what about the triple captain chip? Is there something better than the upcoming Liverpool double?

The answer is we don't know.

In the event of Liverpool losing an FA Cup quarter final they could in GW34 face bha+CRY but even then a GW37 double of CHE+bha/CRY seems more likely (recommended bench boost)

For any team to have a double in GW34 they would need to have their GW28 or 31 fixture postponed, them & their GW34 opponents to also not make the FA Cup SF & for the GW28/31 fixture to be rearranged in 34 rather than 37. #complicated

Arsenal's possible DGW fixtures don't appeal enough imo to use the TC later on an Aubameyang or Lacazette while with City a 34 double (If they go out of the FA Cup) could appeal - NEW+ARS/che - but would u trust Pep to pick a KDB, Sterling or Aguero twice?

Jamie Vardy could be the alternative if they make the Carabao Cup Final. As they are not in Europe their game at Norwich in 28 could be rearranged in to any week. However for it not to be put into 34 or 37 I suspect they too would need postponements in 31 & 34.

& we won't know if that's the case until after GW31, which would rule out the ideal GW29 double of AVL+nor or a GW30 double or wat+nor. A possible & unknown double in GWs 32, 33, 35 or 36 doesn't appeal more than what we know already.

Wolves & West Ham away is far from a perfect DGW, but right now Liverpool look relentless & so in conclusion the advice is to take the DGW24 opportunity, back your man, whether that's TAA, Mane, Salah or another, it's your choice. But the advice is stick the TC chip on them.
