Today's episode of #DavesCarIDService kicks off with this curious car: unmistakably a 55 Chevy dash, front fender & fender trim. I'm saying a 55 Chevy with custom paint and bodywork, possibly 53 Lincoln rear q panels. Condolences on your mom.
Across the street are a 53 Nash Ambassador 2-door, behind it is a bit fuzzy, it's either a 53 or 54 DeSoto
re the custom 55 Chevy: it was not unusual back in the day (especially in California) for someone to buy a brand new car and take it straight to a customizer; Barris, Valley Customs, Joe Baillon, etc. My fave is the Ina Mae Overman 1952 Lincoln Capri.
For comparison, here's a stock 52 Capri. Miss Overman bought the car new in LA and sent it straight to Neil Emory & Clay Jensen at Valley Customs, who did all the swanky restyling.
Miss Overman kept the car for over 30 years, and had it repainted several times. Eventually it ended up in Lake Geneva WI, where a friend of mine bought it in 2006. It has now been restored to its original custom version.
btw on the 55 Chevy, looks like this script on the rear quarter panel might be the emblem of the custom shop who did the work
Back to IDing: this is a pretty fuzzy pic, but I'd venture a 1941 Chevy. And happy birthday Mom.
1955 Ford, and a reminder to you people to watch what you do with your damned grocery carts
Might be 1915, but car is definitely a few years older. Low brass headlights, fly-up fenders & high back seats suggest 1910-ish Buick Touring, or similar year Stearns-Knight. Tough one, and I'm really not sure.

son of a B***H. I concede Mr Simpson here may be correct, and it may in fact be a 1953 Oldsmobile. And trust me, I will be beating myself up all day over my embarrassing error.
my first mistake was IDing the dash as 55 Chevy, with its little passenger side hump, forgetting 53 Olds also had one. Emblem is probably "Eighty Eight." I guess "assume" makes an ass out of u and me, or in this case me.
In my defense, it IS a custom 2-tone paint job. Oh well, at least I got to talk about custom cars, and you got the chance to see me totally blow a layup.
