One thing that is telling about the Lev Parnas document drop is that it shows Trump's efforts to get dirt on Biden were consistent through 2019
First he tried to do a quid pro quo with the Ukrainian prosecutor Lutsenko. In return for dirt on Biden he'd agree to fire Yovanovitch. When that didn't work he held up a visit to Washington for Zelensky and then later froze military aid
But the intent was clear - get dirt on Biden in order to discredit him and undermine his candidacy. This is remarkably similar to what Nixon did with his "dirty tricks" crew - the difference here being that Trump was trying to engage a foreign power in the effort
So here's what we know: Trump sacked the US Ambassador to Ukraine; held up a WH meeting for Zelensky; froze military aid (which was illegal); and pressured a foreign leader into publicly announcing an investigation ... all as part of a conspiracy to embarrass a political rival.
