The thing that strikes me most hearing the notorious section of the tape in context is how deliberately Parnas injects Ambassador Yovanovitch into the conversation. Ukraine comes up somewhat organically, but no one is talking about the American embassy before his comment.
And in the context of a glad-handing donor dinner, it’s a surprising turn in the conversation.
