Just after 7:30pm on March 27, 2019, a State Department staffer sent a scheduling email indicating that Rudy Giuliani wanted to "drop off" documents related to a conversation that he'd recently had with Sec. Pompeo.

“Pls have Mr. G bring the documents [redacted] We will address the meeting issue tomorrow.”

Perry had served as a director at Energy Transfer Partners before becoming energy secretary, and the company’s billionaire CEO was a major supporter of Perry’s 2016 presidential run. washingtonpost.com/news/post-poli…
Perry agreed to refrain from working on matters involving the company for a period of time while secretary. But Energy Transfer’s history of lobbying the Energy Department while Perry was secretary has raised some questions about the ethics of his new spot on the board.
