A particular inhumanity is reserved on social media for the civilian victims of Assad's horrible crimes. Russian bots, outright fascists and leftist tankies seem united in the belief that Syrian lives are worthless.
People claiming to be on the left, uniting with fascists to justify this mass murder is one of the most shameful spectacles of our time.

I always wondered how Western leftists ended up supporting Stalin during and after the Holodomor. Now I've seen how it develops. And it's a horrible thing to witness.

When I read sentences like this, I wonder whether environmental issues have been taken into account.
"A newborn in the UK today has a 50% chance of living to 105."
Is that 50% with or without 4C of global heating?
Not to mention the social realities.
There's a blinkered narrative that extrapolates current medi-tech advances into the future, and assumes they translate into rising life expectancy, regardless of the social and environmental forces in the real world.

For life expectancy to keep rising, as some scientists assume, we would need not just better medicine.
We'd need:
- a habitable planet
- a good distribution of wealth
- good and improving nutrition
- and the belief that there will still be some bloody point to living that long

i noticed #Lavrov was a trending hashtag of at the on the dashboard, and figured it would be interesting to check out. I usually don't find many bots doing this, but this time I did

I ran across these 30+ accounts all created on the same day, all with the same status, friends, followers, and favorites totals.
When you are scrolling through twitter data on a spreadsheet this never happened unless you have found some bots.
