i used to think "she's duplicitous and conniving" was just a thing people said about hillary clinton because she is who she is. but to see that now applied to warren, who is nothing like clinton, is like a sexism alarm going off. and it will keep happening.
every woman is madame defarge/lady macbeth in the eyes of far too many people. and it isnt just men (though it is, mostly)
fyi my reference to clinton being "who she is" was a reference to her being the most prominent woman on the left for like 30 years. i spent forever writing/reporting on right-wing lies and misinfo. trust me, i know where the perception on clinton came from
