1. torno ancora sul racconto di @antoguerrera dei consulenti del governo di #BorisJohnson che accetta l'ipotesi del contagio di milioni di inglesi per arrivare all'immunità di gregge. Ci torno perché mi preme. E come ripeto NON ho alcuna competenza medica
2. raramente le decisioni sociali sono il frutto di una scienza ideologicamente neutra. E se sei un governo di persone che crescono tra #Eton e #Oxbridge difficilmente cresci pensando che gli esseri umani siano tutti uguali.
3. se sei abituato al privilegio, ai superuomini di #Eton e #Oxbridge, difficilmente guarderai gli esseri umani come tutti uguali. Difficilmente riuscirai perfino a vedere i deboli, i poveri. Saranno come gli alberi del paesaggio: uno sfondo a cui rarissimamente presti attenzione

2. in 2016 #BernieSanders enjoyed support, BUT the US Democratic establishment did NOT like #BernieSanders: the establishment liked a centrist candidate: the usual centrist candidate in bed with #WallStreet and the #military-industrial complex.
3. #DNCemails revealed by #WikiLeaks in July 2016 exposed how the US #Dem establishment wasn't neutral and boycotted #BernieSanders to support #HillaryClinton. When #DNCEmails let this internal manoeuvring surface, the #DNC chairwoman,#DebbieWassermanSchultz, resigned

The Task Force will identify immediate and longer-term economic recovery strategies for residents and businesses, with a focus on supporting those segments of the economy that are most strongly impacted by #COVIDー19, such as tourism, hospitality and entertainment.
The focus of the Task Force will be on quickly determining what current supports and stimulus work needs to be done. The City will be working with industry partners to identify actions to support businesses, workers, and residents in responding to the economic impact of COVID-19.

Boris has announced NO NEW MEASURES to contain #COVID-19, & has basically said "keep calm and carry on." No school closures, no university closures & a belief that "banning big gatherings won't help, & may make things worse." Spectacular leadership failure at a watershed moment.
They're stopping testing all cases & will essentially lose a sense of how many cases there are. They're saying that the population needs to develop "immunity" for when this comes around again, & that people should realise that they will lose many more loved ones before their time
Somehow the British government keeps insisting that they are "following the science" but are taking the opposite course of action to every other country in the world. They expect to already have 5-10 000 cases, and are no longer going to accurately keep score...

Finally authorities are putting Mazandaran province on quarantine: only fuel and food trucks are allowed. This late, its effectiveness will be limited.

The same authorities have had argued for quarantine to be "non-scientific" and "from middle ages".

Firstly, its a virus. This is basic stuff and beneath many of you to need to be told, but it means its not a whole living thing on its own. To reproduce it needs to find a host, where it latches on to a cell, injects its own information, and makes more of itself (2)
...think of it as being a bit of genetic code wrapped in stuff. The stuff in this case is a protein mix that sticks up on the outside forming a sort of crown (or 'corona') when you look at it using an electron microscope. Hence, coronavirus. (3)
