Pls RT to spread word

#Ayurveda
Lord Dhanwantari is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He is One of the pioneers of #Ayurveda. He belongs to ShalyaTantram or Surgery branch.
He appeared from Samudra Manthanam. He has four hands holding Shankha (conch) Chakra (A weapon)
Jalauka (leech) & AmritaGhata (exilir)
This is a symbolic representation where conch denotes it's medicinal use in #Ayurveda eg Shankha Bhasma Chakra denotes Surgical instruments,
leech is used for blood letting or RaktaMokshan; on of the PanchaKarmas and exilir pot suggests health.
Dhanwantari is not just mythological figure but historical. References found in Brahma Vaivarta Puranam & Harivansham.
Harivamsha 1st chapter quotes; Lord Dhanwantari was blessed by lord Vishnu that he shall take rebirth during Dwapara Yuga.
So Divodasa was born to Dhanva; the King of Varanasi during Dwapara. He restored the city of Varanasi & founded Universities like Nalanda.
Famously known as Kashiraja Divodasa Dhanwantari; he was an eminent scholar of #Ayurveda. Acharya Susruta was one amongst his disciples.
Susruta Samhita is the very foundation of modern day surgery. This is very important contribution of #Ayurveda towards mankind.
Dhanteras is celebrated to pay gratitude towards Lord Dhanwantari. Puja is done & dry coriander with aged jaggery is offered to the lord.
Today is celebrated as #AyurvedaDay by @moayush. Let's pledge for #SwasthaBharat through #Ayurveda.
Om Dhan Dhanwantaraye Namah।
