What's gonna be next? Excommunicate Lebanon, Qatar-style? Suspend flights? Kick out all Lebanese (who are a significant economic force)?
Saad Hariri's resignation put the Lebanese government in a very tight spot. Either go to war with Hezbollah or with Saudi Arabia.
Consider: Saad Hariri, ex-Lebanese PM, has Saudi citizenship. His former partner, Al Waleed bin Talal, just got purged.

Beautiful people, this is my first truly free week in while. I'm hoping to recover and recharge. I'm going to go offline for a few days and will temporarily delete the Twitter app from my phone.
I'll try as much as possible to not know what's going on in the world. I hope nobody kills or disappears any of my friends (and nobody tries to kill me) in the meanwhile.

Wow. When @Netflix censors material on behalf of Mohammad bin Salman.
Many of us Arabs were very excited when Netflix launched its MENA division, because we thought this is a way in which we can bypass censorship. I guess there's the end of that.
Money always comes ahead of principles. Corporatism is a pillar of the structure of power that keeps us pinned down.

This measure came following Israel launching “Operation Northern Shield” to "destroy Hezbollah tunnels on the Israeli border."
#Hezbollah believes war is not imminent but mobilised its Special Forces already present in the south of #Lebanon.

#Israel said its ops is expected to last weeks, declared Northern Israel a military zone and sent its Israeli special forces.

I don't think @netanyahu, unwilling to continue a war with #Hamas, will engage in a foolish adventure against #Hezbollah in #Lebnon.

#Israel real message behind it? Could be to divert the attention since its PM is facing legal procedures.

No, given: 1) the special US-KSA alliance established in the 40s, and more importantly, 2) Trump’s deep financial ties to Saudi Arabia and MbS. #Khashoggi

Regardless of CIA intel (or anyone else), Trump is eager to accept any #KSA / MbS cover story - however flimsy, obvious and farcical - for #Khashoggi.

Between this administration’s Iran stance (hi, Bolton) and Trump family financial ties, they’re all in - and more - for Saudi.
Yet another level to CIA confirmation of MbS as the actor responsible for Khashoggi’s murder — and why it won’t matter to Trump or the US in the end — has everything to do with his self-proclaimed “reformer” stance.
