China agrees to 'Disengage' at all #LAC Flashpoints. It has already moved bsck its forces from all friction points except Pangong Tso where current Chinese position is at Finger 5 & India continues to insist complete withdrawal beyond Finger 8 & restoration of status quo ante 1/n
#GalwanValleyFaceOff was an eye opener both for India & China. Beijing realises Indian troops will fight to finish to protect every inch of Indian territory. Chinese expansionism (salami slicing) along LAC in this form is over. India is building infrastructure & will deploy fast.
Indian army remains firm on total withdrawal & deinduction of Chinese forces. Chinese want to remain between Finger 5 & 6. Battle of nerves. But by onset of winters there should be withdrawal of Chinese forces. Some may remain. But no major mil threat. Depsang is another story.

#Modi traveled to #Ladakh to visit soldiers “injured” in #GalwanValleyFaceOff, yet not a single soldier is bandaged/monitored, there is no medical staff & the “hospital” treating them strangely has no medical equipment but does have a stage, podium & projector in recovery ward. ImageImageImageImage
Army clears up everything. It is a conference room converted to a hospital ward - they just forgot to take out A/V equipment. Soldiers are injured but not badly enough to need medical equipment. Injuries on all are underneath clothes.…
Army officials say these are soldiers who received comparatively light injuries and are convalescing. “They are probably injured in different places like leg or arm or chest but are clothed so nothing can be seen.”

India has a military edge due to many reasons including geography as I showed your boss @HuXijin_GT via my tweet thread a few days ago. Our leaders know it, so do yours which is why they are calling for disengagement

Recent mobilisation facts : You moved 4 Mech Division...

against us last week. This is in addition to 6 Mech Division that you started the fracas with. How did you start ? You expanded the scope of your summer exercises in Tibet and used 3/4 times the forces that you usually exercise with. Then under cover of exercise your 6 Mech

broke off and made a mad dash to Ladakh. Its constituent brigades (all arm brigades) went to 3 different areas including Samzungling opposite #GalwanValley Galwan. You thought you would catch us by surprise and roll down the valley. But you were stopped #galwanvalleyclash

In an earlier thread 👇(written 6 months before #Pulwama) I tried to get into this Most Favoured Nation thingy and why India should immediately strip #Pakistan of that status - economically and geopolitically

Let's try #China now.Would it make sense to revoke China's MFN status?
For starters, India seems to enjoy being the punching bag of the world- affectionately called "becoming Vishwaguru" by many in the administration.

God alone knows why India never revoked MFN for Pakistan till Pulwama while Pakistan hasn't made India MFN SINCE DAY 1 OF WTO (1996)
India provides preferential tax treatment based on a 2003 agreement, to 217 Chinese goods (at a good 13% lesser than MFN rates given to other nations). China has similarly preferential rates for 188 items. Even before #GalwanValleyFaceOff the #ChineseVirus exposed the flaw here:

-Images by @Nrg8000 spotted a camp at #GalwanValleyFaceOff on 22.05.2020
-Images by @Reuters spot debris in the area on 16.06.2020

-#India said #China set up a temp structure that led to the clash, media said the #IndianArmy Col burnt it down

Composite image below Image
Adding this comparison between the 9-16 of June as well that shows the camp did indeed leave some time between may & june but debris arrived instead at the same spot --- via @Reuters Image
Lastly a camp there treated as a forward outpost makes a lot of sense since its "line of sight" would allow either side to watch the other's activities in the area, the only issue is this patch of land lies in #India as per the #China claim line Image

18 Indian Army soldiers died in an ambush by an outlawed group 5 years ago. This group had received supplies and support from a neighbouring country, and at least some of its leaders are known to be sheltered in this same country.

Guess the country.

It’s China.
In June 2015, soldiers of 6 Dogra Regt died in an ambush in Manipur’s Chandel district.
Army’s SF responded by conducted raids on militant camps in Myanmar. The opening scene of Vicky Kaushal’s Uri depicts a cinematic version of that ops, but I digress.
The attack was claimed by United National Liberation Front of Western South East Asia (UNLFW), a group of nine militant groups led by NSCN-K and the Paresh Baruah's ULFA faction.

@Rezhasan covered this alliance in 2015, 2 month before the ambush. (3/n)…

'China is upset'
- That is what news reports and think tank circuit will have us believe.
- Why?
- Because we've build new roads.
- Some even want us to suspend building new roads.
- I mean, seriously?
As I said earlier, don't fall for rumor mongers and those deliberately trying to undermine Indian interests:
To those claiming 3,000 or 5,000 Chinese troops have entered Indian areas across LAC - what proof do you have? Who has counted them? And how exactly so many troops squat themselves in areas across LAC at 3-4 sites? Where's the common sense here?

The most idiotic thing that you'll come across as India-China square off on LAC and Sikkim is pathetic, defeatist commentary from Indian 'think-tanks' and 'strategic experts'. They'll have you believe that China is going to win w/o firing a shot!
From 2008 onward, Chinese started pricking India so much that a even a naturally lethargic Indian establishment reacted by raising new -
1) 3+1 Mountain Divisions
2) 3 x Infantry/Mtn Brigade Groups
3) 2 x Armored Brigades
4) Rejigged one more infantry division for north.
- If anything, all this posturing by the Chinese will lead to further hardening of stand by India. And pumping of new resources against the Chinese across the board.
