Good Morning Sweetlings, Beautiful Monsters and Fabulous Disasters.
Today is #TransDayOfVisibility and I have thought long and hard about what I need to say about it.
For those of you who do not wish to be visible and wish you could just fade in to the background, I support you.
When I announced to the world that I was Transgender, I looked to Twitter to find like minded folk and if it were not for their visibility and strength I believe I would have seriously struggled to accept myself.
For me, I am not openly visible for the Cis, not for the attention and definitely not for the glory. I am visible so that others may see me and find some commonality in life, so that others may see me and feel that it is possible to be themselves.

In the midst of Deathsantis signing the Don't Say Gay bill in Florida, I thought it would be best that I provide my own individual story about how not having any sex-education in school affected me as an asexual kid.

Please take the time to read this.
A while ago, I wrote was for @lgbtqnation titled "I am asexual. My story is exactly why LGBTQ+ inclusive sex-education matters".

I wrote this because I know how harmful it is firsthand to not have sex-education in school that features your orientation or identity.
To not have your identity mentioned or even be allowed to be mentioned in school only leads to feelings of shame, alienation, and ostracism from peers and society.

All of this I felt as a kid.

Good Morning Sweetlings, Beautiful Monsters and Fabulous Disasters.
The weather over the weekend was amazing! Had a lovely walk down by the river on Sunday. I have my angle poise tablet holder, and I can see how I managed without one!! I played Tiny Tina's Wonderland and laughed
We watched MI: 3 and we constructed an IKEA shoe cupboard.
Phew, I feel knackered just remembering all that...

I hope your weekend was filled with excitement and laughter, and I hope that this week brings you some peace in your life.
I hope the voices of doom keep quiet
I hope the challenges of today are not to demanding of your spoons.

Always remember that you are in someone's thoughts today. I think about many of the people I have lost and found, each and every day.
You matter, your feelings matter and you are valid.
Be fabulous, be amazing

Look at how fucking resilient we are. Look how strong. Look at all the shit we’ve gone through and we’re still here❤️
Every single trans person I know has been through traumatic experiences. Family rejection, healthcare discrimination, job loss, sexual assault, denial of services, substance abuse, and the list goes on.

Being trans is hard.
If you’re trans and reading this, I know you’re tired. I know your resilience only keeps you going for so long. I know you need a break from being you. Because I feel the same way all the time. It’s OK to get angry, it’s OK to be exhausted,..

Good Morning Sweetlings, Beautiful Monsters and Fabulous Disasters. Big day for me, a celebration! A time to reflect on the the journey I have undertaken, a moment to look at myself and appreciate just how far I have come. What is so special about today? I hear you ask...
Today is one of the landmark events in any Trans Persons life, today is a celebration of the day I started HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy).
4 years ago today, I placed the very first patch on my thigh. The nervous excitement of finally moving along the path to new adventures.
So much has happened since then, I didn't have a clue what life was about to throw at me. But I thought whatever it was I could handle it and I would make each day a celebration of renewed life.
I made new friends and lost others, discovered acceptance and found rejection.

Good Morning Sweetlings, Beautiful Monsters and Fabulous Disasters!
I look at the community I find myself a part of, and I see so many amazing people. I see folks trying to live their lives to the best of their ability, I see folks going above and beyond what is expected.
I see folks who radiate love, folks who always support their friends.
I feel honoured to be a part of a loving, caring community and I hope that I do my small part in belonging to that community.
I look out across the sea of faces that appear on my screen, and I see hope.
I see a community ready and willing to help, to reach out and lift others up. To build bridges and clear the way, so that those who follow will have an slightly easier route to follow.
I see you, I hear you and I am proud of you and I stand with you.

Good Morning Sweetlings, Beautiful Monsters and Fabulous Disasters.
Sometimes I find myself staring blankly at the screen, waiting for words to form themselves on the digital canvas before me. And today is one of those days...
But you're typing these words, I hear you say!
Well, yes I am.
Constructing this was not easy, it took many forms in my fingers, fired across empty spaces between synapses. Thrown around like aa bag of ping pong balls, until it finally took form on the screen. And even then, a garbled message appeared and was quickly deleted
Words don't come easy to me, I'm not the most logical of people. I tend to flit from idea to idea, and before anything tangible becomes reality, it's gone within the next moment. Then some days I turn around, and words have somehow fallen haphazardly onto the screen, with no idea

Good Morning Sweetlings, Beautiful Monsters and Fabulous Disasters. I'm in the process of cleaning the kitchen and have had to take a break, for me staring at light coloured surfaces for too long induces a headache as my brain tries to work out what's dirt and what's floaters.
That's why I like to make my surroundings darker, it's more pleasing and soothing to me as the darker colours negate the constant floaters in my eyes.
Life here in the Scottish Borders in proceeding nicely, we feel settled here.
I hope today brings you some peace from the constant barrage of noise from the world around you, and you find a reason to smile.
Reach out and tell someone you love them today, make sure you thank the folks that work to make our lives easier. Be patient, be kind

Good Morning Sweetlings, Beautiful Monsters and Fabulous Disasters. A rip roaring start to the day with a phone call from local Mental Health Services, had a lovely chat, some advice and local contacts. Starting again in a new area can be difficult at the best of times!
Washing is on and whirring softly away to itself, singing the cleansing song of Machima. Got some cleaning to do next, new rota in place to make sure neither of us forget anything that needs doing.
Hopefully going to play some Cyberpunk 2077 later, new character joy!
Do you have plans for today, do you have good news that you'd like to share? Let me know how you're doing!

To all my female friends today on #InternationalWomensDay especially my Sister @hellsmumof4 and my partner @JessicaNellH, I hope today brings you extra love and hugs.

Breaking down "Biological Sex"

Tweeting this rather than replying so I can make a proper chain. Credit to @RileyJayDennis for helping me frame my understanding -

#TransRightsAreHumanRights #TranswomenAreWomen #transmenaremen #trans #TransIsBeautiful
Biological Sex is a human-created classification system for sorting organisms based on their reproductive abilities. The stuff that ‘biological sex’ describes is objective, but the system isn’t.

The most widely used model for determining sex is:
Secondary sex characteristics

These 5 things are measurable facts. But grouping them together under one system is a human invention. A model for understanding and classifying bodies.

Elliot Page shared a new Instagram post on Monday. In the photo, a shirtless Page enjoying himself poolside is accompanied by the caption, ‘Trans bb’s first swim trunks #transjoy #transisbeautiful.’
Page recently underwent top surgery, a procedure he described as 'life-saving' to Oprah Winfrey in an April 2021 televised interview.
In that same interview, Page said it was little things that have so far given him the most joy since transitioning. 'Getting out of the shower, and the towel’s around your waist, and you’re looking at yourself in the mirror, and you’re just like, 'There I am,'' he told Oprah.

Yesterday we lost Dominique Lucious, a 26-year old Black Trans woman, to hate-fueled violence in Springfield, Missouri. Our hearts are broken for Dominique, whose bright beautiful light was extinguished far too soon, and for her family facing this horrific tragedy. Image
Everyday we work to end the stigma around transgender individuals. Such stigma fuels a culture of fear: transphobia, biphobia, and homophobia sit at the intersection of racism and misogyny, and fosters violence. ⁣⁣
Every anti-trans piece of legislation filed in #moleg is an open invitation for hate filled violence. If we are not working to end the societal violence that ended Dominique’s life, we are part of the problem.

Today, March 31st, is the #transgenderdayofvisibility, my first since coming out and letting the whole world see who I really am...

I have been blessed by support and acceptance in my #transition, but I know that this experience is not universal. (1/x)
Far too many of my #transgender and non-binary brethren are shunned, cast out, or attacked, simply for trying to live as who they are. Even now, in some parts of the world considered the most advanced and civilized, this community of mine is under direct attack. (2/x) ...
... Attacks that seek to legislate us right out of existence. It is no wonder that we are community that is struggling with fear.

Despite this, trans people are showing how strong we can be; we are showing ourselves as the beautiful people we are, inside & out, showing (3/x) ...

Klingt einfach ABER [Thread]
Kosten 3000 EUR. Je nach gutachtenden Person.

Tw eugenics, queer phobia, violence, medical abuse

The curious thing about anti-queer eugenics is that they will never actually work; being queer is not heritable or contagious. Anti-queer eugenics attempts operate on the false belief that we can be eliminated.
These crusades never succeed at eliminating queer people (it’s not possible, we will always be born into every population); but they do succeed at driving us into hiding. For the perpetrators of these actions, that is often good enough.
They often argue that this is “proof” that they’ve eliminated the “evil influence” or that queer people chose to be queer all along.
You can’t eliminate us. You can only make us suffer from your cruelty.

Hey idk which cis “ally” needs to hear this, but it is literally never acceptable to out someone as trans without their consent.
Also outing someone as trans to “prove” how progressive you are, no matter who they are, is selfish and dangerous. It is not allyship in any capacity.
Also telling anyone a trans person’s deadname without their explicit consent, for any reason, is an act of transphobia. No exceptions.

Good morning sweetlings, beautiful monsters and fabulous disasters. Another glorious day has arrived, landing spectacularly fabulousl, like a penguin in a sequined tutu and wearing a hat made of rainbows.
You too are fabulous, you are amazing, you are loved and you are worthy.
You are beautiful, your light shines so the world may see you in all your glory.
You do matter, you do belong, you can do it.
You are not an imposter, your head tells you lies. You are not a burden to those that matter. The voice of doubt can be louder than reason, it deceives.
Stay strong my sweet and beautiful monsters, walk proudly, unashamed of who you are.
Stand tall in the face of those that would bring you down.
Live without regret
Love without conditions
Laugh with those around you
Dance like no one can hear you
Sing like no one can see you.

TERFs don’t believe in evolution and are anti-science.

As a trans woman in the field of Paleontology I find the “biological sex as immutable fact” argument offensive as a scientist (and trans person), it’s illogical within context of our geologic past.

Let me explain.

First, I think I’m finally figuring out this whole twitter thing. It’s about cute selfies, so buckle up. That way I can trick you into learning about geology and paleontology, the real passions of my life.

Reminder: Paleontology is the study of ancient life and ecosystems.

Please remember, much like my geo-pick says. Safety first when it comes to interacting with Transphobes. TERFs and their ilk do not operate in good faith and are unwilling to accept any facts that do not conform to their twisted views of biology.

This #PrideMonth please remember that if your Pride event isn’t accessible, affordable, & inviting to trans people, non-binary folks & people of color then it’s not for the entire LBGTQIA community.
This means wheelchair accessibility. This means ASL interpreters. This means NO COPS. This means gender neutral restrooms. This means hosts who don’t make racist, sexist, ableist, transphobic, fatphobic or classist jokes.
Vet your venue. Vet your people. Make Pride great for all of us. Except straight people. Pride isn’t for straight people. (I mean, you can come I guess, but I’m not interested in making Pride comfortable for heteros. Don’t @ me on this)
