There are (aspiring)blockchain projects claiming to be "Modular" because their systems avoid default a interconnection of core components(layers).

Their design proposition prides itself on core components being external/pluggable.

I've come to find this is as total BS 🧵👇

Make no mistake, these blockchain projects(eg. #Celestia) are backed by solid R&D and this post isn't meant to discount that.

What this post focuses on is realigning the scope on descriptions used to market them in comparison to other chains w.r.t. their design architecture.

Today, advocates for aspiring blockchain projects such as #Rollups and Data Availability(or rather Data Scalability) solutions tend to classify blockchains with an All-in-One structure as Monolithic.

They also tend to bastardise them for their performance and dependencies.
