שתי קבוצות מחקר, האחת מ-Impertial College London והאחרת מאוניברסיטת באזל עובדות כבר כמה שבועות ומעדכנות ללא הרף את ההערכה של אחוזי התמותה. ניתן לומר כרגע שזה בסבירות גבוהה איפשהו בין 0.1% (כמו שפעת) לבין 6.6%. ההערכה הסבירה ביותר היא בסביבות 1% - 1.5%, שזה הרבה יותר משפעת.

למה אי-הוודאות הגדולה? כי אנחנו לא יודעים לא את המונה (מספר המתים) ולא את המכנה (מספר הנדבקים).
מספר המתים לא וודאי אפילו אם רק סופרים מחוץ לסין, כי יש עוד לא מעט אנשים במצב חמור שלא ידוע אם ישרדו.
מספר הנדבקים לא וודאי, כי אין ספק שיש הרבה נדבקים עם סימפטומים קלים שלא נספרים.

עדכוני נגיף: לאחרונה הייתה אמירה מרופא בכיר בשנגחאי שהנגיף מועבר בארוסול. לא ברור האם זה נכון - בהנחיות העדכניות של המרכז הסיני למניעת ובקרת מחלות (ה-CCDC) נאמר שככל הנראה הנגיף לא עובר בארוסול אלא רק בתוך בטיפות גדולות יותר שנקראות droplets -->

המשמעות של הדבקה בארוסול היא סיכון הדבקה הרבה יותר גבוה מאשר מצב בו הנגיף יכול לעבור רק בתוך טיפות נוזל גדולות יחסית. ראו תרשים להסביר.

-China is responsible for a significant amount of the global supply chain.
-China already restricting shipments & availability of goods.
-USA allegedly now energy independent.
-China controls significant gold & lithium reserves.

2/ -China is a net importer of oil & gas
-China has been pumping their stock market.
-USA is also pumping their stock market.
-China probably survives #nCoV19 crisis due to massive manufacturing infrastructure.
-USA probably hurts more due to lack of access to China goods.

3/ -Chinese currency might possibly hyperinflate, just like how they misreport the #2019nCoV cases, they have been printing money massively internally & reporting false numbers to the world.
-USD probably survives as world reserve...
-Global depression more likely now than 2019

למה חושבים שהנגיף לא יתפשט? כי מחוץ לסין לא רואים בינתיים הדבקה מעבר למגעים מידיים של אנשים שהגיעו מווהאן, וכי נגיפי קורונה לרוב לא מתפשטים בקלות באקלים חם.

למה כן? אין ספק שמספר הנשאים גדול, אולי בהרבה, מהמספרים המדווחים. ייתכן שחלקם מסתובבים כבר שבועות בעשרות ערים בעולם. עוד אין אישור וודאי להדבקה ללא תסמינים, אבל נראה שבעלי תסמינים קלים יכולים להדביק. אם זה המצב, אולי תוך שבועות נראה התפרצויות מחוץ לסין.

There are many options. The Chinese have a list of 30 products they are interested in—-including TCM. So one topic of discussion will be the prioritisation of drug trials. Ie which ones look most promising. There is one other thing. I anticipate two kinds of trial...

One will be compassionate use of drugs for critically ill patients. The other will be RCTs with placebo arms for hospitalised patients. As most of the patients are currently in China I expect most of these trials will start there. #nCoV19
