1/ The team is in #Eastbourne #Wetherspoons. Within 5 mins of arriving a bitter faced woman comes up to me & orders me "not to disrupt the event or she will vote Leave again in a #PeoplesVote"
I asked her if she was threatening me? 🤔
(At least she is thinking about another vote)

2/ absolutely packed full in #Eastbourne #Wetherspoons. Some holding @LeaveMnsLeave placards. Everyone squeezed in like sardines. I heard a lady whining that Remainers had come. Someone else pulled a pro EU badge off my guitar case and slipped it into their pocket (Beats me?)🤷🇪🇺

3/This lady asks what facts Tim has to show food prices won't rise as a result of #Brexit, as evidenced by the various "commentaries" he dismisses. He claims we don't need to charge tarrifs on anything & then food prices will drop, @Jim_Cornelius taking him to task on his lies

4/ local GP asks what is going to happen to UK farmers if we crash out on #NoDeal & the #EU imposes 40% tarrifs on exports? Tim Martin doesn't think they will. He says Theresa May should have taken up Tusk's Canada+++ offer & farmers want #Brexit (even though the NFU oppose it)

5/ "The mistake @theresa_may made was to "prioritise getting a deal. If we crash out on #NoDealBrexit we save £30bn. We have no financial obligation to pay & I don't think we have a moral obligation to cough up £600 per person to Brussels... now onto fishing!" #Wetherspoons

6/Immigration debate turns nasty.
Tim Martin claims "unelected officials" impose immigration laws: Freedom of Movement allows #EUcitizens to live here & claim "more social benefits" after 3 months.
We dispute but he "doesn't want to bore the audience" with arguments about the law

7/ last question: "what will happen to small companies that fail as a result of 3-5 years of uncertainty?" Tim Martin replies "I don't believe they will fail. But we can agree to disagree. Thanks everyone for coming debate is really important."

How on Earth is this a debate?!

8/ The pro #EU contingent outside #Wetherspoons in #Eastbourne! Well done team! @peoplesvoteeas1 🇪🇺🇬🇧👏 I would strongly urge all Remainers to turn up for their local Wetherspoons sesh and give Tim Martin some grief (& some facts although he won't listen to them!)
