Interesting that Kurdish outlets are publishing these details. The YPG has an interest in showing there's an alternative to the "safe zone" Ankara and Washington are discussing #Syria
The current configuration suggests there will be two rival negotiating tracks, one US-sponsored track focused on creating a safe zone along the #Syria-#Turkey border, and another Russia-backed track meant to integrate the SDF back into the regime
Those two tracks can complete each other, but they also most likely will be in competition. If the SDF feels Washington is siding with Turkey, it will be more willing to make compromises with the regime for instance #Syria
This also means the SDF, while standing to lose some of its autonomy, may still be in a position to negotiate a deal that would at least preserve part of its independence #Syria
