So was this the birth of the plot to frame Trump for Russian Collusion? A 2015 wargaming of an attack against the 2016 election by the Russians by an Israeli intel firm. Then an approach by their sister company to Rick Gates, Swamp creature extraordinaire!
thedailybeast.com/mueller-witnes…
Many others have done threads on Joel Zamel & his links to the Deep State in a variety of countries. Invent a strategy for how the Russians could collude with a political campaign, then frame one of the campaigns using the strategy as the narrative you plant in the IC & media.
When working with Rick Gates didn't work they got an audience with @DonaldJTrumpJr. Gates was Manafort's co-conspirator in the effort to make Trump look like he was colluding with Russians!
Was the plan implemented? Or was it part of a bigger plan? Mueller knows! Mueller knows all!
They seem to be very worried that the plan Wikistrat cooked up was too accurate in it's predictions. What are the odds that Russia would design an election influence operation that was an exact copy of Wikistrat's proposed Russian election influence operation. Prescience, indeed!
Way too accurate to be dismissed as a simple coincidence that the 2015 Wikistrat plan for Russian interference, was the exact same narrative planted into the intelligence community & media. Possibly by the same PR firm...
I'll take the fact that they don't disclose who the client for the Russian election interference report means it is important. It also likely means it won't be Trump hurt by the revelation of who was paying for that 'blue print' to frame Russia for interfering in the election.
Hhhm, cybermercenaries, sounds like the kind of people that would use the CIA's Vault7 tools to disguise their efforts to ensure someone else's fingerprints were on the attack. Someone they wanted the attack to be attributed to!
Seems the analyst got the name of the group of Russian trolls, wonder if that mistake will provide leads over who copied that error?
Intel analysts that don't know what form of "their" to use, weren't we having a discussion the other day about intel analysts posing an academics & think tank academics are lousy writers!
The jargon across all these reports is the same, interesting. Makes me think that jargon can also be traced as it went from the people creating the strategy thorough to the people implementing it & reporting on it.

Breadcrumbs....
So the Psy Group decided to close up operations, why would an intelligence group that was so good it perfectly predicted the Russian election influence strategy close up? Maybe it's report was too close to the implementation plan. But by now I'm sure Mueller knows all!
Then conveniently the plan was presented to Rick Gates, or at least that is what the plotters leaked to their friends at the NYTs!
I'm not surprised that Gates listened to this exact plan, one the Daily Beast notes was already underway before Trump announced his campaign. So if the IRA's actions were already underway for almost a year old, Why would they need Gates to implement it? nytimes.com/2018/10/08/us/…
Timelines as described by Buzzfeed:
Internet Research Agency allegedly starts troll campaign before Psy Group developed the strategy.
Psy Group Strategy Developed: June 2015
Proposal to Gates: April 2016
Proposal to Trump Jr.: After RNC Convention in July 2016.
So why would you pitch Gates a plan to get the Trump campaign to pay for a Russian influence at least 9 months after it had started? Why would you pitch it to Don Jr. more than a year after it started?
To establish the narrative that they were colluding with the Russians.
The analysts are getting paid to brainstorm with no idea who the client was that paid for the Russian election influence road map.
They at last reveal some of the connections, primarily George Nader, a corrupt influence across the spectrum for the 2016 election & many other incidents. Nader also brought Wikistrat & Psy Group to the front to present the Trump team a UAE plan to overthrow Iran in January 2017.
Then the bombshell buried in the last paragraph. After the entire article says this was an unimplemented strategy, they make the allegation that Psy Group was involved in a social media manipulation campaign in both the primary & general election.
It seems very likely that Zamel paid these analysts at his firm Wikistrat to invent an election rigging strategy. Then implemented it in an effort to frame Trump for the Russian trolls.
No wonder the analysts seem very worried that their 'predictions' were too accurate!

Huh, just by coincidence I found this very interesting thread on the UAE hiring cybermercenaries in the US!
What an interesting group of cybermercenaries to! Connections to Democratic political insiders & a 2016 Presidential candidate. Funded by Paladin Group. UAE contract arranged by Richard Clarke, Clinton's NSA CT guru who held over for GWBush admin. theintercept.com/2015/07/07/bal…
Seems they secured special State Department permission to export cyberweapons to the UAE in 2011.

I smell Swamp! Swamp colluding with a foreign government.
Huh, seems a liberal threader who goes by Polly Sigh was connecting Psy Group to Cambridge Analytica & their June 2014 effort to fight Russian Trolls, set up in the same town as the Russian Trolls! medium.com/@pollysighdc/i…
