Breaking: Woman who had accused of sexual harassment against CJI Ranjan Gogoi withdraws from the 3 Judge In-house committee probing allegations of sexual harassment. #RanjanGogoi #SupremeCourt

"Today, 30 April, was the 3rd day I went to the in-house committee of 3 SC Judges (Justices S.A. Bobde, Indira Banjeree and Indu Malhotra). But due to serious concerns and reservations, I am no longer participating in these in-house proceedings" - Press Release of Complainant

I had made a detailed complaint of sexual harassment and victimisation against the CJI by means of an affidavit dated 18/4/19 and I had written to all the Judges of #SupremeCourt to constitute a special enquiry committee of senior retired Judges to enquire into my complaint

To my dismay I found that on the next day, 20/4/19, the Chief Justice constituted a special bench comprising of himself and two other judges and various allegations were made against me in my absence, by the CJI, another judge and senior most law officers of the government.

In the Committee hearing that took place on 26th April 2019, the Judges in the committee told me that this was neither an in-house committee proceeding, nor a proceeding under the Vishakha Guidelines and that it was an informal proceeding. #SupremeCourt #RanjanGogoi #CJI

Here are the allegations by the Complainant against the Committee
1) No lawyer
2) No telephone / Whatsapp records being summoned of imp numbers
3) Cant disclose proceedings even to her lawyer
4) No video recording of proceedings

I told the committee that it would not participate any further if I was not allowed the presence of my lawyer/support person. But this request was still refused by the committee and I was told that if I didn’t participate they would proceed exparte.
