- The attack on pumping stations of the East-West pipeline in Saudi Arabia is significant. It reflects the realization that these pipelines replace the passage through Hormuz Strait. In other words, these pipelines reduce Iran’s ability to influence oil flow in the Strait
- The attacks on ships on Sunday and the attack on the pumping stations today indicate one thing: the planners chose the weakest spots. Therefore, it cannot be the work of few angry people!
- Many oil-consuming countries consider energy security as part of their national security. The attack on the oil tankers in the #UAE and then on the pumping stations in #SaudiArabia might result in more countries involved in the region: internationalizing the conflict!

- #SaudiArabia has positioned itself as a safe, reliable supplier of oil. The attacks challenge this position. They invoke old memories in the West, leading some politicians to call for eliminating dependence on oil imports from the Middle East or even on #oil all together.
- I will not be surprised if many environmentalists and some democrats take this incident as a proof for the need for the #GreenNewDeal. It will be a cheap shot, but works with their base.
- Today, #SaudiArabia has reassured the world of steady reliable supplies. They have proven record to prove this point.

The problem is: perception matters. The Saudi problem now is not proving that Saudi Arabia is a reliable supplier, but managing perceptions.

- Energy installations have always been a target in wars, a target for terrorist, and a target for any angry group. Saudi oil installations are well-protected. The attackers focused on the most remote, most vulnerable, and least protected installations. next

- The above (#7) should provide comfort to the world that major Saudi oil installations are safe, and therefore, Saudi Arabia can continue its role in the world as a reliable supplier. Terrorists have tried several times to hit major installations and failed.
