Walked down to the Reflecting pool to check out the memorial to the lives lost in Iraq/Afghanistan and in other conflict zones

I was trying to simply be grateful

The people who advocated for this stupid, pointless war, which caused 4400 American deaths and 32,000 American casualties

Are still public figures, and completely unapologetic for their advocacy

@BillKristol, @maxboot, @davidfrum, many others

Have they no shame?

But that's why I decided to support Trump and get into politics more seriously

If there was a moment that crystallized my support for Trump it was this one

Everyone said this would doom Trump, he couldn't accuse Bush of having lied us into Iraq in South Carolina

Turns out that was wrong

The Republican base had turned against Neo-conservatism

And the neocons were on the ropes

Why? Remember the youth who supported Ron Paul

Ron Paul cleaned up with the under-30 Republicans in 2008 in 2012

Why? Because Iraq was indefensible

Those young Republicans are now older

And Trump is their revenge against the boomer Neocons who nearly destroyed the right

Back to the present

Why be involved in MAGA/Pro-Trump politics?

For me, it's pretty simple. Trump beat the neoconservatives in 2016, badly

But they could easily come back and retake control of the party

It's a moral imperative to prevent that

I personally don't have a lot of inflexible commitments on policy, especially anything technocratic

Neither will @HumanEvents, we're open to heterodoxy

But not on foreign policy

We're going to make sure that the era of regime change wars stays over
