1. Something interesting in Roger Stone's case. Court granted motion for USA to file a motion under seal:
"MINUTE ORDER granting 139 Government's Sealed Motion for Leave to File Under Seal as to ROGER J. STONE JR. (1). The Court grants the government's motion to file under

2. seal but notes it may revisit the need for the seal after it has reviewed the materials more closely. The Clerk of Court is directed to file under seal [139-1] Government's Notice of Intention to Introduce Evidence Under Federal Rule of Evidence 404(b)."

3. The 404(b) reference involves Character Evidence:
"(a) Character Evidence.
(1) Prohibited Uses. Evidence of a person’s character or character trait is not admissible to prove that on a particular occasion the person acted in accordance with the character or trait.

4. (b) Crimes, Wrongs, or Other Acts.
(1) Prohibited Uses. Evidence of a crime, wrong, or other act is not admissible to prove a person’s character in order to show that on a particular occasion

5. the person acted in accordance with the character.
(2) Permitted Uses; Notice in a Criminal Case. This evidence may be admissible for another purpose, such as proving motive, opportunity, intent, preparation, plan, knowledge, identity, absence of mistake, or lack of accident.

6. My guess is Stone argued he made a "mistake" and the Govt is going to unload all the "mistakes" to prove it is his pattern and not a mistake so Judge Berman Jackson can unload the rack on the little lying cos-playing weasel. 😎
