To the extent normal Americans pay attention to the Mueller circus - because DNC Media makes it impossible to avoid - their takeaway will be that the political establishment they despise really hates Donald Trump, so he must be doing something right.
The grandstanding from both parties at the hearing will probably drop a few political coins in Trump's pocket. He wants to run as the outsider at war with the system, which is tough to do after 4 years in the White House. This will help him do it.
Democrats praised Mueller as the living avatar of indefatigable justice. Trump loudly and repeatedly said he was awful. Mueller looks awful in this hearing. That's a win for Trump with average voters.
Democrats look dishonest and unserious for wasting time with this theatrical nonsense when they were just bleating about existential threats to the country yesterday. They look desperate and opportunistic, with some of their most unappealing officeholders front and center.
Trump looks like the guy taking care of business while the Democrats beat a dead horse and waste time with junk that even the most detached voter sees as very old news. They're making their huge presidential field look irrelevant by trying to re-litigate the 2016 election AGAIN.
The Dems are blowing whatever meager political capital they gained with anyone except their most fanatical followers and NeverTrump by holding a hearing that ended up making Mueller look absurd and tedious. They're dispelling the cloud they wanted hanging over Trump. /end
