Sky News are saying that Sajid Javid is poised to splash another £2.1 billion on no deal preparations. It's amazing how much taxpayer cash is disappearing into the Brexit shredder, isn't it?
A cynic would wonder whether they're picking up the spending pace to deluge contracts on their buddies before Brexit runs out of road and gets stopped by Parliament.
You also have to wonder what changed since Wednesday last week. Under Theresa May, we were still experiencing the Tory austerity programme. Now Boris Johnson's suddenly splashing the cash like a Euromillions winner. But the fundamentals of the economy haven't changed at all.
