It looks as if some more realism is beginning to seep into the electorate...even if a worrying large number of Leave (especially Tory Leave) voters are still clearly delusional.
But who the hell are the delusional 8% of Remainers and 15% of LD voters that think it would result in a clean break such that the country could concentrate on other things?.

Suggests more education needed.

I do not believe that this is the Operation YellowHammer report as of 2/8/2019.

This is not how these sort of “traffic light” review documents would normally look.

Further it is only 6 pages.

I don’t think this is compliance EVEN for that 1 doc

I am not saying this does not form part of the documents relating to YellowHammer. They have certainly altered the description from base case to “reasonable worst case)

Simply not all documents relating to YellowHammer since 23/7/2019.

They have to have assessed worst case.
Risk register updates traffic lighted.

Mitigation actions.

Etc.

[Thread] I analysed around 13,000 retweets of Boris Johnson's tweet that read "The referendum result must be respected. We will leave the EU on 31st October. #LeaveOct31". He tweeted this twice, once on 15th Aug and again on 27th. The following is what I found: #StopTheCoup
Firstly, the first time he retweeted it it got Retweeted around 11.8k times: The second time, it received around 8.3k (see pic). So 13,000 retweets is not bad considering the total of around 20,000 tweets. At first, I was interested in automated accounts retweeting it (bots)
However, what I found more interesting was the sheer number of #MAGA accounts retweeting the tweets. By #MAGA accounts, I mean those pro-Trump account that seem to be unusually consistent and 'on message'. Of the 12,177 individual accounts I analysed, 1025 were #MAGA accounts.

Have you heard of #Hotelling’s Law? In a two party system, it says that you get most votes by minimising the political distance between the parties. It’s worked well in the past, but it’s about to bring an end to both #Labour and the #Tory party. 1/n

Hotelling’s law worked really well for Tony #Blair. #Thatcher had moved the Tory party to the right, so #NewLabour had an opportunity to increase its vote share by also moving rightwards. 2/n
Politics had shifted. Both parties held broadly similar policies. Blair’s political stance, although to the left of Thatcher’s, was much further right than any Labour leader previously (or since). Labour was able to capture ground that the Tories had left unguarded. 3/n

There is a big and obvious thing that happened in #LocalElections2019 - a surge of support for #remain parties - and it is real.But there is a smaller thing creating a more confusing picture. A theory .... 1/n (picture source @guardian ) #Brexit
The smaller thing is that Labour is doing better in areas that are remain and worse in its strong areas that are #leave. This is a paradox as you would expect the opposite if this was driven by a #RemainBacklash.
And the Tories are the opposite. They are being punished in their areas that are remain. Is this just a plague on both your houses and reveal nothing about voters and #brexit? I don't believe so. And here's my theory.

Even more gold from @BESResearch -- while I do think that online opinion polls are generally extremely problematic due to the likely significant selection bias that it introduces, there is still some signal in the data that tells us about the nature of #leave support in 2016.
Waves 7/8 asked participants what they expect how the EU referendum is going to pan out... i.e. it asked what probability respondents attach to a #Leave vote, some subsequent waves ask whether people regret how they vote.
20 - 30% of respondents stated the probability of a #Leave success is less than 40%. Now, the nice thing is the BES also subsequently asked, how people voted and whether they regret how they voted -- it asks whether people are #remainernow
