That’s 1 million - young and old, from all towns, of any documented immigration status - fighting #climatechange, caring for the sick and elderly, running after school programs, building trails for @nps and @USForestService, tackling #Poverty, and making America better. //3
Already @AmeriCorps and @AmeriCorpsVISTA are doing incredible work in communities in all 50 states. Tom would make them bigger — much bigger! //4
Since #JFK founded the program, more than 250k @PeaceCorps members have built international goodwill, immersed themselves in different cultures, contributed to the #SustainableDevelopmentGoals and fostered global peace. This plan makes the PeaceCorps bigger too. //5
Everyday, seniors are giving back through @SeniorCorps, working with kids and their fellow seniors to help Americans age with dignity and provide kids with the love, learning, and opportunities to help them grow into thriving adults. This program, also bigger. //6
And, as the #FridaysForFuture #ClimateStrike this week has proven, we have a TON of work to do to combat #ClimateChange. @TomSteyer would create a new #ClimateCorps to ensure that every community is ready and train workers for the new 🚎#CleanEnergyEconomy ⚡️. //7
@TomSteyer knows Americans are ready to give back to our country. For no group is this more true than for the young people he has worked across America, registering folks to vote. //8
