2. AA oversees. At no time did I ever perceive that the SDF or the AA expected to be a separate state. As far as I can recall the international borders were always intended to have federal central government control in their design. This is not that, but it is not so far off
3. to miss the chance that this action may stop an imminent genocide. ✌️

1. In advance of the Wednesday's oral argument over Trump Mazars subpoena, I checked the 2nd Cir docket and found Vance's office's letter to the court about what may come next. Vance is giving Trump a stay to let the 2nd Cir rule plus 10 days. For that he got an expedited
2. schedule to tee up the certiorari petition. With only ten days of stay Trump will have to rush his petition. He'll likely seek another stay but they will be up against the clock.

The briefing will be over ten calendar days after Trump files his petition and by then the
3. ten day stay will be expired. So when SCOTUS considers Trump's stay the certiorari may be mostly briefed. It will give SCOTUS a good record to address the stay and whether to even grant cert. I think Trump's case is so bad Vance is betting they deny cert in short order.

1. The irony for the @GOP is in 2021 Trump will be charged with genocide of #Christians. Crimes against the Kurds are war crimes and more likely ethnic cleansing. But because Syrian Christians make up so small a sustainable culture the law's "destroy in substantial part"
2. element is more easily met than with Kurds that are a larger population. Trump making an agreement with and ISIS affiliate to commit genocide means he's likely going to prison. The minimum sentence for genocide is life in prison.
3. And not just @POTUS @RealDonaldTrump. @VP Pence @SecPompeo and likely @whitehouse counsel all are chargeable. If the the Trump children are found to have known and taken Mehmet Ali Yalçında blood money and not reported it, I think Jr, @IvankaTrump @EricTrump can be charged.

Western TV journalists who've visited the #YPG (PKK) in #Syria describe the #US withdrawal from the north as a betrayal. They repeat false claims like YPG lost 10k dead fighting ISIS. These journalists were stage managed by YPG during visits and know nothing about their abuses.
#FSA and the Islamic brigades drove #ISIS out of Idlib, Aleppo and Syria's northwest. FSA alone lost 3,500 dead battling ISIS without air support. Despite this #US chose #YPG (PKK) to fight ISIS who can't fight without air support which led to huge destruction and civilian death.
#US support for the #YPG (PKK) in Syria has not only caused unnecessary large-scale destruction but their distribution of advanced weapons to the terror group was a mistake. Soon we will see if #Turkish soldiers will be killed by weapons provided to YPG by fellow NATO members.

The last few weeks have really underlined just how quickly the situation on the ground can change. Although the immediate disaster may have been averted, we should take this as a reminder to always be as organised and prepared as possible.
The US intervention has been nice, and it's allowed the liberation of North and East Syria to go much faster. That's saved countless lives. But the US was always an unreliable ally, and the current administration has never had a consistent or coherent policy on Syria.
