Last night during the debate, Tory HQ's Twitter account rebranded itself as a fake fact checking service, pumping out anti-Corbyn propaganda. It proceeded to award the debate to Johnson before going back to its original look. You can see what that looked like in the screenshots.
It's worth noting that James Cleverly defended the strategy on Newsnight last night, and gave some implicit indication that he signed off on it.

Here's more about the original story.

And here's still more coverage of it. Twitter issued a lackluster response, basically saying "don't do it *again*, you naughty people"

The real issue, apart from the clear and obvious deceit, is this: if the Tories are willing to go to such lengths (and it was condemned by practically all reputable journalists) what will the rest of the election campaign look like. It's going to be 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😱
Here are examples of the kind of propaganda they pumped out. Note the branding as if it were a genuine fact check, with only the tiniest of "CCHQ" lettering. I'm guessing these screenshots may go away soon. (8:07pm, 8:17pm, 8:23pm, 8:31pm)
They also put out several dozen tweets beginning "FACT:" during the 8pm-9pm debate slot (they would all have been branded FactCheckUK at that point) but without turning them into graphics like the ones in the previous tweet. Overall they put out hundreds of tweets from 8pm-9pm.
(If the above graphic doesn't make sense, everything below the red line near the top was posted during the debate, and more too. My graphics package choked at 32,768 pixels high for the original screenshot of their Twitter account.)
Here's James Cleverly defending the deception.
