Outside nat'l media gaze, which focuses on DC actors or the Trump rally, a circuit of small, decentralized gatherings in Trump's name is having impact, particularly in white, rural towns. And here, everything is more explicit, including the overt prejudice

This is the third story I've done this year on white identity + the GOP. Previously, I went to St. Cloud, MN, and talked to a group of white voters seeking to ban refugees in their city. Like those at Trumpstock, it was driven by fear of cultural change

Before that, I was in Old Forge, PA, as a Republican campaign tried to win a race mimicking the Trump playbook of white grievance. They ultimately lost.

A couple things come to mind: One, I wrote about how Democrats were trending towards an all white top tier in October. nytimes.com/2019/10/29/us/…
Two: The top tier would NOT be all-white if black and Latino Democrats were supporting the black and Latino candidates. They are not, at this time. The key here is the theme of this story, that representation is not the sole priority for this group

As I tweeted yesterday...Congress has not conceded the point, explicitly reserving its position that it has a constitutional “need to know” of intelligence community wrong-doing.
Now imagine that a #POTUS subverts laws of the #US but does it in part, by sharing classified info w a foreign govt. Maybe it’s #treason or taking a bribe = unquestionably impeachable offenses.

People believe it's vile that "#Russia interfered in a US election," and yet they support the US overthrowing democracy in #Venezuela. No matter your political ideology, the undeniable fact is that #Maduro was democratically elected in an election the opposition CHOSE to boycott.
You dont have to be a leftist/socialist to be against American interventionism in any sovereign state. The media is painting the events in #Venezuela as an “anti-socialism” struggle so the #Trump voters will get behind it when it’s a matter of the US meddling in foreign affairs.
