@StephenKing To get to this point, a lot of things had to happen.

1. To get ISIS into Syria and Iraq, there had to be an engineered revolt in Libya, hatched in eastern Libya, comprised of mainly non-Libyan radical Sunni Muslims from all over. They flew the flag ISIS flew in Syria/Iraq.
@StephenKing 2. Once Libya was destroyed by Al Qaeda formations (Ansar al Sharia, etc.) that were backed by US and NATO, arms and jihadis flowed to Syria through Turkey and Jordan while the open air slave markets started up in Libya, now a monkey cage of bedlam.
@StephenKing 3. To get heavy weapons to the new jihadi proxy army in Iraq and Syria, weapons dumps in Iraq were left with minimal security. ISIS steals M1 Abrams tanks, MRAP vehicles, Humvees, Toyota trucks used by US spec ops troops, and tons of ammo. They seize Kurdish area of...
@StephenKing ...Mosul and most of western Iraq, threatening Baghdad. Obama claims it is unlikely ISIS can be stopped. Iran steps in and stops ISIS from encircling Baghdad, starts aiding Syria which Obama is trying to overthrow. It is important to note it takes more than one year to train..
@StephenKing ...four-soldier crews in M1 Abrams tanks in the US Army, yet ISIS jihadis operate them in combat with no documented training at all. So, WHO TRAINED THEM? We did.
@StephenKing Syria's fall was imminent when Russia intervened in partnership with Iran, with successes achieved almost immediately. This begins after US military refuses to "be Al Qaeda's Air force" in an invasion of Syria after allegations Assad regime used WMD on their own people.
@StephenKing Putin publicly questions why Obama Administration cannot see ISIS driving oil tankers full of stolen Iraqi oil from the Mosul area oil fields when Russia can see this on THEIR satellites. Obama started bombing the tankers after Putin's public remarks.
@StephenKing US military kept making mistakes like accidentally air dropping supplies to ISIS formations, and accidentally bombing Syrian troops holding a hill, which caused ISIS to take the hill, before joining the anti-ISIS operations in Syria after Russian and Iranian successes.
@StephenKing The Iranians armed and trained the Kurdish Peshmerga formations that retook most of the lost Iraqi cities and territory in the Mosul area. Our special ops troops advised the Peshmerga Kurds which resulted in the photo of Suleimani appearing with his entourage among our troops.
@StephenKing So, without the Libyan regime change fiasco and the Syrian attempted regime change fiasco we don't wind up where we are now. This did not happen in a vacuum with the previous Administration having squeaky clean hands in the cause and effect chain of events. It took more time.
@StephenKing So, what we have to deal with is was the killing of Suleimani a good idea, or not? I don't think it was for several reasons, but will never act as if nothing was wrong with US policy until Trump showed up. That is not true. Most of US policy was "misguided" right up to now.
