Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Let’s all go back to why we can’t unwind these forever wars. cnn.com/2020/01/11/mid…
Let's expand this reboot to Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Somalia and ask if the the methodology applied actually adds to the longevity, complexity and unsolveability of these Low Intensity Conflicts. We are seeing a rise in first world weapons used in third world wars.
This first world fear used to be expressed as "what if they have the bomb" but it is more likely to be found as a threat when other nations can afford automated systems operated by incompetent planners, pilots, trigger pullers and mercenaries. nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/real…
The United States cannot respod or deal with "hybrid warfare" practiced by China, Russia, Turkey Iran, and other medium-sized powers. Combatting this trend requires a complex and rapid response with little to no interest in the moral consequences. rand.org/content/dam/ra…
Is Trump is trying to create a de facto amoral dictatorship to speed up, monetize and outsource pressure against the hybrid model? No. Trump doesn't give a shit about non-aligned conflicts and is obsessed with transactional deals. washingtonpost.com/opinions/globa…
The solution? Awareness of how developing nations are being wooed by China, Russia, Turkey, and other interests in places like Mozambique, CAR, Libya SE Asia and areas that will snap into a geostrategic jigsaw puzzle that will not include U.S. interests. politico.eu/blogs/the-comi…
The other answer is to withdraw all U.S. troops from all foreign nations and go back to zero based military budgeting. Resetting the crooked and warped path we have taken since WW2 to justify global presence. Ramp up FID, employ more expeditionary/ punitive elements.
This idea would impact the military industrial complex which is already putting itself out of business by being too expensive and inefficient. Ten percent of our US based manufacturing industry would be impacted. But that's a good thing. Why? pogo.org/analysis/2019/…
Shrinking the giant monopolies might inspire a bottoms up response to weapons of warfare. A return to innovation where weapons are matched to warfare and not budgetary allowances. We rely on space, carriers and massive black budgets to defend America. interactive.aviationtoday.com/avionicsmagazi…
We spend millions to kill flip flop wearing kids in pickup trucks in the Sahara. We had no defense against 9/11 and we had no defense against the recent Iran missiles in Iraq. We have no defense against kidnapping, airline downing, and overseas attacks. We need a new plan.
So in closing our WW2 era leviathan system is build to support forever wars by increasing footprint, not end them. We sell used and nw equipment partners from Taiwan to Mexico. We create global stalking and control the "Battle space". Back in 2015: politico.com/magazine/story…
And now in 2020 we are repeating the EXACT same mistake Bush Sr made in 1990 that led to 9/11, Khobar Towers, Bush Jr and the 2007 push to invade Iran.... by stationing US troops in Arab dictatorships. #HistoryIsABitch. nytimes.com/1990/08/08/wor…
We are essentially stationing small clusters of US troops in tiny unprotected archaic Hesco outposts putting them at extreme risk based on lack of force protection. Prepare for Lebanon, Khobar, Benghazi, Kenya and now Iraq. America's Achilles Heel. apnews.com/65926ee82091f7…
