Ok, @google. I don't know how I feel about this.

I was looking for the part of speech used in the phrase "to have someone assaulted." But for the past 20 min, this phrase has been seared into my brain.
It makes me hopeful, thinking that, perhaps, there are people out there who are legitimately trying to determine if their actions caused anyone harm - and hopefully, that they're attempting to do what's right.
OTOH, it could be people worried that their actions the night before could be construed as sexual assault, that they're trying to evade the consequences of.
It makes me wonder - was the man who raped and threatened me one of the people who asked google this question?

If so, did he ask the day it happened?
After I wrote a letter to my former boss, telling him in words what he refused to listen to in person?
Was it after that boss gave him my new contact info after I moved across the country, and he asked me to meet him in my new life discuss the nasty allegations I had made against him (though I never actually used his name, referencing only the threat he made against my career )
Or was it after the rise of #meToo, when he finally realized that if a friend has arranged for them to give you a ride home <to your own home> from the campus bar, you remember him stopping outside his house to let his dog out - then wake up in a strange bed the next morning....
waking up with your underwear off when you have your period (which is not how you roll)... that maybe then he realizes what he did might not meet the definition of consensual, so he tries to determine if it could be considered "sexual assault".....
Or maybe he's never thought to ask that question, because.... of course.

I don't know.

I can't stop thinking about that.
I can see how it could be a good thing, helping to start the path towards someone making amends.

But I can't imagine someone would be looking for an answer to that question would be unable to formulate the entire query himself...
Or even if it was intended to distract someone who is looking to hire someone to sexually assault someone else into addressing the consequences of their actions?
Or is it just a mindlessly generated autocomplete that addresses the frequency with which perpetrators don't realize the predatory nature of their behaviour?
I was just looking for how you diagram the parts of a sentence where the agency of an action is outsourced...

Instead, I got this resurgence of thoughts swirling around my head about the circumstances that took away my career...

And, TBH - it kind of ruined my afternoon.
Perhaps, someday, when you've broken away from the influence of those directing your business decisions now, when you stop giving $90M severance packages to men who force subordinates into sexual relationships, etc...
Maybe then you'll consider consequences of design decisions that allow autosuggestion of phrases that bring sexual predation to mind - especially when your models already know if someone has searched for info as a survivor of sexual assault (at least they sold ads based on it).
Do me a favor - bookmark this thread for that time - OK, @Google ?
