Like 45% of the country I'm neither a democrat or a republican.

As a leftist, voting blue has been a necessary evil because we're held hostage by a two party system.

I have liberal friends who agree with that assessment, and then wag a finger at me and say "But Trump!"

I've heard that for the entirety of my voting life when criticizing Dems:

"But Bush!"
"But Bush!"
"But McCain!"
"But the Tea Party!"
"But Romney!"
"But Trump!"

Why is it those of us who are opposed to war, consider climate action to be inescapably urgent, and appalled by income inequality are always the ones who are asked to compromise?

All of those compromises have slowly eroded the base of the Democratic party.

These capitulations ultimately served to validate the ideology and bigotry of conservatives.

THAT is the root cause of Trump's election.

Not Sexism.
Not Russia.
Not Bernie.

"We have nowhere else to go at this time! All we have to do is to look at what Trump has done and imagine what will happen if he gets a second term. It will take multiple generations to recover and many of us may not even survive!"

I've succumbed to this argument in the past, been a good soldier, and done my part for "harm reduction".

I voted for John Kerry in 04 despite the dem leaders' abuse of Kucinich and Dean.

I voted for Hillary Clinton in 16 despite the treatment of Sanders.

The Democrats have become more like the Republicans and the Republicans more like the Nazis with every election.

This primary has finally convinced me that electoral politics on the national level is a dead end.

I'm fucking done being attacked for recognizing the need for, and demanding bold action on issues of income inequality, climate change, and criminal justice.

If you saw the shit hurled at Bernie supporters from the True Blue Dems and their allies in the corporate press, you'd understand that there has been NO effort made on their part to earn our votes.

When Biden loses, they'll say it's ALL the fault of Bernie & voters like me, with some Russia! thrown in for good mix.

I will have a goddamned stroke if the Dems actually reflect on how their own policies & actions have eroded the confidence of a majority of the electorate.

Even if Biden pulls off a miracle and wins, I can foresee the liberal reaction:

"Bad Orange Man Gone! ALL IS SOLVED! Back to normal, back to brunch!"

Same as when Obama won and liberals acted like that was enough to correct all of the damage done by Bush/Cheney.

No criticism of Obama was tolerated from my liberal friends then, either.

By pointing out bad policy decisions (usually ones that were consistent with Bush), I was "helping the Tea Party".

I expect the same under Biden.

The elephant in the room is that systemic voter suppression and the dangers of electronic voting never gets seriously addressed by the national press.

I don't know how @Greg_Palast @jennycohn1 & @LuluFriesdat muster the energy to keep fighting that battle, but respect. ✊

There have been NO consequences for those who have engaged in election fraud in my lifetime.

No consequential national attention has been paid to the corruption of our voting mechanisms.

So WHY would the bad actors who rig our elections ever stop?

I'm mailing out my absentee ballot for Bernie in the OH primary tomorrow. TY @GovMikeDeWine for allowing me to vote w/o risking my health.

Then I'll be looking for more useful things to do with my time than trying to make the Democratic party better than it wants to be.

The Democrats fucked around, now they can find out how far they'll get catering entirely to well off liberals who think centrism is the only path to victory, and that capitalism is flawless. I'm done with your incremental bullshit.
