#Coronavirus update for 3/20 - "Underlying"

Today's numbers:
Italy: +5986 (14.6% Growth rate)
USA: +5854 (42.4% Growth rate)

#Italy: Continuing right under 15% growth. A small decline from yesterday.
USA: A little less than yesterday, but still ALARMINGLY high.

As others have posted in my timeline, USA may be doing more testing now, but there is a backlog - that could explain the spike we are seeing now or it could just be setting us up for even larger numbers very soon. Time will tell.

USA has almost exceeded the daily rate of cases in Italy, that should happen tomorrow - this is a precursor to the USA 'catching up' in total cases eventually. I have my predictions about when that will happen but I'll remain silent for now and let the numbers talk.

I'll have the charts for death rates and recovered cases built tomorrow, too. These posts are getting a little crowded with graphics, so may start a second thread for those.

the only way to cut the growth rate short of a cure/vaccine is #SocialDistancing. All of us can contribute to this effort.
