THREADETTE: H/t @emmert_joe French follow-up study on the hydroxychloroquine-azithromycin combo (hereinafter "combo"), has great news and also suggests a new approach for whom to script it to. These two excerpts are key 1/ 
2/ This study, available in full, here:, did in vitro testing to see how the combo worked on the coronavirus. Past showed only so-so in vitro for hydroxychloroquine, but given now they added Z-pack b/c in small study those patients did best. mediterranee-infection.com/wp-content/upl…
3/ There was a synergy--so Z pack somehow made the hydroxychloroquine work better "in vitro." I think reason some doctors were poo-pooing Trump's "drug" was b/c in vitro it wasn't that great. But this changes that. ALSO, the conclusion reached is that you don't give it to
4/ the very sick but to the not very sick! Yet, with the governors (such as the Michigan's governor) trying to prevent scripting of the Trump drug, those not sick enough might have issues getting it. Expect next press briefing to discuss these points. END.
