1/ Let me interpret the days health care news for folks.
2/ Bipartisan talks officially ended.

The bipartisanship offered by @SenAlexander was sincere. GOP leadership wouldn't let it happen.
3/ It was obvious when Ryan and the White House did this that it was a calculated effort to neuter Alexander.

4/ The Democrat leading the negotiations issued this statement.👇 it's not hard to read between the lines.
5/ Today, faced with a clear choice, the Republican party chose partisanship over bipartisanship.
(Let me interrupt to say that this is going to be a long thread. Lot happened today. Feel free to exit here.)
6/ The next big thing that happened is Graham-Cassidy got body slammed.

First from bipartisan governors...

7/ And doctors...

And seniors...

And hospitals, patient groups, insurers, etc. etc.
(Plane taking off. Give me 10 mins... Apologies)
8/ The bill sponsors also aimed to demonstrate support from governors.

Anyone remember Graham's "25 governor" strategy?...
9/ Today they announced they would have a full throated endorsement from 20 R governors. Not 25, but 20.

But then...
Today, 15 governors (not 20 or 25 as pro used) conservative R governors released a letter of thanks for G-C. BUT WITHOUT AN ENDORSEMENT.
11/ The Rs asked for "adequately funded" block grants. Hmmm. No endorsement.

Bipart govs slammed it.

What about Dem governors?
12/ Remember, the only way this has a shot is if 💰 is taken from blue states to make red state block grants bigger.

13/ So how are Republican MOCs in NY and CA reacting? Not well. At least 3 yesses likely flipped to no.

14/ Also the GOP argument on giving flexibility to states was undercut by GOP not giving flexibility to states.👇

15/ And they decided to have a show hearing on Monday so they can claim they did before a vote on Wednesday. Let me make a point...
16/ It's not bipartisan to walk from a bipartisan deal.

Even if you schedule a hearing right before a vote. That's called an insult.
17/ and they are scheduling a vote on the bill without a CBO score.

I wonder why they don't want a score...

18/ But you may be asking do we need a CBO score? Should they vote without one?

Let's ask the bill's authors.

19/ So where do we stand?

They don't have the votes but there are enough on the fence.
They just went home til Monday.
Monday is a big day,
20/ That's the day. So far.

Not over yet. Watch @jimmykimmel.
