Let me tell you smtg: I'm not super confident about the future of #groovylang. Not bc of #kotlin, but because of breaking changes in Java 9.
Groovy now miraculously runs thanks to the `--illegal-access` flag. Which is going to be removed in the next release.
plus we cannot convert Groovy to a module without breaking binary compatibility. Or making the whole thing a single module.
It's a bit sad but I have no time to investigate those issues, and the rise of #kotlin (which is very nice btw) makes it almost irrelevant.
at least for those who use CompileStatic. For the dynamic world I'm afraid you'll have to live on older JDKs.
I honestly hope I'm wrong because I still love #groovylang and use it everyday.
