This is a travesty, based on arguably the worst piece of research I've ever seen. The arguments for limiting testosterone in female athletes are total pseudoscience mobile.nytimes.com/2018/04/25/spo…
and I wrote a piece last year about this - basically, the study they are using to back up this decision threw t-tests at a continuous variable until some results popped out cecileparkmedia.com/world-sports-a…
This passage is basically nonsense. There is ~no evidence~ that hyperandrogenism is consistently associated with improved athletic ability
That being said, even if it was, who cares? We don't stop extra-tall people from playing basketball or people with large shoulders from swimming

These testosterone rules are just another sexist delineation for womens' sport
Unless we start eliminating everyone with a 'natural advantage', this entire argument is totally pointless

Because it has nothing to do with advantage, natural or otherwise
I also wrote a blog about this last year, which reminded me of a really good point:

If you go by the IAAF's study, for the vast majority of events women with hyperandrogenism have no advantage at all

So even using the IAAF's OWN EVIDENCE, you could quite easily conclude that actually hyperandrogenism confers no competitive advantage for the vast majority of sports
It's also important to remember that delineating 'female' from 'male' competitors in sport is drenched in a long history of very disturbing misogyny researchgate.net/publication/26…
