Does it? Is there anything Trump could say that would lose the supporters he has left? He is what they follow, not anything he stands for or says or does.
That's why demagoguery is so dangerous historically. When followers are so loyal to a person—not to principles or policies or even a party—there is no need to convince them of anything, only to give orders.
As I've said, a demagogue doesn't find radicals to lead; he radicalizes his supporters one outrage at a time. Eventually he's all they have and the truth is what he says it is.
