2/ The Form D lists Straubel and Stevenson as Executive Officers. What about the business adress? 
3/ The address belongs to Kuehnis & Associates, CPAs. Brian Kuehnis is listed as agent on the registration statement of the Straubel Family Foundation.
4/ What is Redwood doing? Further research shows an occupancy report (Milpitas) dated 5/18/2017 saying: "New manufacturing company for refurbishing of motors into new products".
5/ Review of 2 LinkedIn profiles of ex intern's (according to their LinkedIn profile, employment not independently verified by me) adds to that picture:
"recycling and remanufacturing, primarily electric motors and electronic components from electric vehicles"
"recycling and remanufacturing, primarily electric motors and electronic components from electric vehicles"
6/ "methods to process electrical vehicle components "

7/ More connections to the Straubel Foundation: I was further able to find a LinkedIn profile of a Marketing Consultant working for Redwood Materials and the Straubel Foundation at the same time (according to her profile).
8/ Review of import logs shows that Redwood Materials in May imported "Machines and apparatus for electroplating, electrolysis or electrophoresis" from the Italy. Source: Import Genius
9/ The homepage of the supplier italimpianti.it shows that they offer among other things solutions for "precious metal recovery from e- and i-waste ".
10/ Another connection to Tesla: As @lorakolodny pointed out that Redwood Materials is hiring in Nevada. To be precise according to ZipRecruiter in Reno, where the Tesla Gigafactory is located.

@Paul_M_Huettner @AndyKaplan3 12/ Redwood Materials continued. Thanks to @orthereaboot (forgot to include him previously). Some background info I had posted earlier and forgot to include (regarding Stevenson's departure from $TSLA).
13/ Regarding connection with $TSLA: At least Redwood Materials included a link to an article called "A new recycling company with links to Tesla raises funding" in one of its current job openings.
14/ To me it seems to be a strange coincidence that Redwood Materials has an address in Milpitas near $TSLA's factory in Fremont and is now expanding to NV where $TSLA manufactures its drive units (which include electric motors) in the Gigafactory.
