CBO on what House GOP health bill's waivers would allow:
"Less-healthy people would face extremely high premiums" on health insurance "if they could purchase it at all"
"Annual or lifetime limits would be allowed"

CBO projected about 1/6th of states would get waivers on community rating - the ACA law prohibiting price discrimination for health status - as well as "essential health benefits" which include things like prescription drugs, hospitalization, maternity benefits, mental health.
The flip side of fewer protections for sick people is lower premiums for healthy people.

The effort by a partisan judge to try to help the GOP overturn the ACA is best viewed as an attack on health care for everyone.

It would hurt people who get coverage through their employer, through Medicare, through Medicaid, and who purchase it on their own. /1
Get coverage through your employer?

You'd see a return of annual and lifetime limits; wouldn't necessarily be able to keep your adult children on your plan; and would lose free preventive services. And you'd no longer get a rebate if your premiums are too high. /2
On Medicare?

You'd get a return of the prescription drug donut hole; face cost-sharing for preventive services like mammograms; and some beneficiaries would face increased premiums and out-of-pocket costs. /3

The @CDCgov cites 133M as the number of chronically-ill Americans who have #cancer, like I do, or another illness that impedes their daily lives.

The majority of that 40% of the US population still have to work despite often disabling illness because we cannot afford not to.
