4 tweets on the UK govt-funded 'Integrity Initiative' and the “Conflict Fund” that has supported it.
1/The govt was forced to admit in parliament that its ‘Conflict Fund’ funds the Integrity Initiative. But there is no mention of this funding I can find in any of the govt documents previously made public on the Fund. I think we know why that is. bit.ly/2uaoGfv
2/No doubt the reason the Conflict Fund documents do not mention the Integrity Initiative is “national security” – ie, “elite protection”. bit.ly/2uaoGfv
3/UK ‘Conflict Fund’, which funds Integrity Initiative, funds “Strategic communications in support of peace” in Yemen, run by company whose chair is a former Commandant in the Royal Marines and MOD Operations Director. The funding is ‘aid’ money. bit.ly/2uaoGfv/https:…
4/ UK ‘aid’ from the ‘Conflict Fund’ is being used to support all the things Britain destroyed in Libya in 2011. One of the projects the FCO is supporting is called the “Peaceful Change Initiative”. This one must be run by Monty Python. bit.ly/2uaoGfv
