We are going to be discussing the impact of this information disorder / information "pollution" on society and our democracy

The first panel is going to discuss the impact of fake news on elections. This is an important conversation since we are 120 days away from general elections.

@Shehla_Rashid is going to be talking about how she has been the target of various disinformation campaigns on social media.

@Shehla_Rashid @ghanshyamtiwari @sharechatapp will talk about solutions to counter misinformation.

The panelists will talk about the key challenges related to content moderation in the digital sphere and whether there is a risk of over regulation.

They will share thoughts on harmonizing the right to privacy affirmed by the Supreme Court of India with access to law enforcement ( whether there should be a back door to encryption )

The Role of various institutions (Government, Media and tech companies) in combating fake news will be discussed in the second session.

The second panel will also discuss alternatives to government regulation and whether there should be a stronger focus on digital literacy.
