THREAD: #Map: ISIS attacks in June 2019 (Interactive)
Link: u.osmfr.org/m/335413/

251 attacks - 52 less than in May - but some in less expected places (Mozambique, southwestern Syria, Grozny), increased activity in central Libya, a conflict against Taliban and pledge videos.
The month began with another "offensive" - "The Battle of Attrition", which brought almost 20 attacks each day. After it ended, there were days when there were less than 3 attacks claimed by ISIS.
June was also a month with quite a number of official videos - every 3-4 days there was a new release showing ISIS fighters from around the world (West Africa, Sinai, Khorasan, East Asia, Caucasus) pledging their allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
In Syria, there was only one unordinary thing that happened last month - an IED targeting SAA near Daraa, claimed on 04/06. Other than that, the situation hasn't changed too much since the fall of Baghuz (check my last maps and see).
To prove this, check the statistics about the attacks in provinces - it's basically the same four or five. In July there were no claims for attacks in Manbij area.
Iraq is a similar thing, the last months are only different when it comes to details. It must be noted though that there was an increase of attacks inside Baghdad. It's still nowhere near the pre-Caliphate numbers, but noticeable anyway.
40 percent of the attacks were outside of Iraq and Syria. The other areas aren't super active, but they do keep reminding themselves through different kinds of assaults.
In Afghanistan ISKP reignited their conflict against Taliban, clashing heavily in Kunar and Nangarhar provinces. In June it was also active in Kabul, Kunduz and Paktia.
Wilayah Hind (Kashmir) and Pakistan remained active as well after they were separated from ISKP, although there are still some links between them after fighters from both regions appeared in the "bayah to Baghdadi" video, released by Wilayah Khorasan.
June in Lake Chad basin started with a series of big attacks targeting Nigerian Army bases. A number of them were either briefly seized or burned during assaults. The second half of the month was slightly calmer, but the danger still persists there.
Note: There was a larger (compared to previous months) number of suicide attacks in June - Tunis, Borno, Philippines (Sulu), Baghdad. It's interesting to see if this becomes a more employed tactic in the future (perhaps not, but who knows).
Some statistics, this time I didn't do the full list of attacks (yet; I had way less time), but don't worry, I should post it within a few days.
