I contracted E. Chaffeensis, Rickettsia, & what was later found to be #Lyme.
I wasn't treated for 11 mos. By then, the bacteria had invaded my spinal cord + brain.

👇 During one of my hospitalizations, I contracted Vanc-resistant C. Difficile. I fought it for 3.5 yrs but ultimately had to have 2 fecal matter transplants to save my intestines/life (prevent sepsis).
Now, I can't DIGEST/ABSORB food w/out EnteraGam- an enteral food RX @$198/mo.

My RX is $198/mo. It's normally $1600/mo but I get a pharmaceutical scholarship. My now 77-year-old mom is my caregiver & she can't afford it. It's near the end of the mo & I am freaking out! 😭

Besides my $198/mo RX I need to DIGEST/ ABSORB food, we get $64/mo #foodstamps for food. It's long gone. We had beans, white rice, & canned peaches from the local food pantry but I can't eat any of it!😭
I'm on a medically prescribed FODMAP diet.

I am utterly invisible

My mom & I have worked our entire lives trying to help ppl.
Now we need help.
She's an RN & she worked until she was 75 bc of my med. bills.
I'm a former defense atty & then I worked at The Center For Women & Children: helping abuse survivors. My now 77-year-old mom is exhausted.

The #ACA saved my life! However, by the time it was instated, we had gone through our life savings of $120,000+. We were living off a 2nd mortgage until it was tapped out, then credit cards.
So far in a hole we can't see sunlight.
Please! I need my RX @$198/mo to digest food.

Please! So many of my wonderful friends I've made on Twitter keep me going (besides Mom).
I'm in constant pain & it's so humiliating having to beg for help online.
I now need a walker or a cane.
Mom does everything: helps bathes/dress me; cooks (if we have food), laundry, etc💔

In conclusion, I can't digest food without an enteral food RX that's $198/each mo.
Nearing end of the mo & I don't have it!
We get $64/mo for food (long gone): just my protein drinks are $2/pc. There are many days the pain is so bad, I can only drink them. Still 2-3 Dr appts/wk.

That's me 👇 in yellow. My grade school, high school classmates, & neighbors held a bunco fundraiser for me last summer but the $2000 we raised is long gone.
My RX is $198/mo, foodstamps are $64/mo, & trying to save home.
We've tried to help others our whole lives. Plz help us..
