Nice to be able to finally see how battery biz is doing, thanks to the recent re-org. Until now, auto battery biz was reported w/ energy devices, etc.
Very^10 rough calc. says battery cost has been ~$150/kWh give or take $10/kWh at cell level. My estimate for 18650 based on METI data was ~$175/kWh, & I've heard 2170 should cost 10~15% less, so $150/kWh makes sense for 2170.
At pack level, 2170 may cost $200/kWh. For 75kWh, ~$15K/car. I've read battery packs are ~40% of total cost, so this sounds reasonable from what I've read.
Very similar to $150/kWh for CATL reported recently.
A minor correction. Going through METI data, the cost of 18650 should be close to $190/kWh, rather than $175/kWh.
Looks like the reduction in $/kWh is mostly driven by the change in mix, from 18650 being ~1/2 in 18Q2 ~1/5 in 19Q2.

Also, $/kWh seems to have been a bit low for 18Q3 & a bit high for 19Q1. Perhaps due to the accounting favor Pana did for Tesla?
