1. Airdrops are interesting as a straight alternative to advertising, but I'm skeptical of impact on crypto networks

2. Bankification is inevitable and will come with good and bad

3. Apple isn't getting into crypto soon, but I'm watching Amazon.

My takes:

1. The more people connect the dots b/n QE and bitcoin, the more its alt SoV narrative is reinforced

2. Not clear who initial Binance US user is, but I wouldn't judge by immediate uptake

3. France is example of govt's saying "maybe WE should make digital currency"

Counting down the top 5 from Long Reads Sunday #63.

#5 was @DoveyWan's take on the "Bitcoin Bull on top disguising the Altcoin Bear underneath." This was a great expression of the most common answer when I asked why CT seemed glum despite BTC performing.
#4 was @fredwilson's post "Some Thoughts On Crypto," as introduced by @Melt_Dem as exemplary of a certain "trough of despair" with interesting implications for the next 12-18 months.
#3 was @mikejcasey's reflections on BOE Governor Mark Carney's recent comments on why central banks should band together to create a Synthetic Hegemonic Currency.
