What these conservatives don't want Canadians to understand is that it was PET's rejection of his flirtation illiberal ideas that led him to fight against illiberal movements the rest of his life. 3/ #cdnpoli #elxn43

Fast forward to today and Conservatives are playing the same game. They want Canadians to ignore Justin Trudeau's achievements and focus solely on his moral failing as a teenager and twenty-something. 4/ #cdnpoli #elxn43

Ignore the promotion of gender equality. Ignore reconciliation. Ignore unprecedented action on climate change. Ignore low unemployment. Ignore poverty reduction. Ignore Senate reform. And so on... 5/ #cdnpoli #elxn43

Their moral failings as young men are real, no question. But Canadians should judge both Pierre & Justin Trudeau on their achievements while in office and the moral leadership they offered later in life. Conservative efforts to the contrary be damned. 6/6 #cdnpoli #elxn43
