The script for the retweet network works with any jsonl file that contains full Tweet objects.
You can use twarc (github.com/DocNow/twarc) to collect Tweets and then the script to generate the gexf. I only had to change the encoding of the jsonl from 'UCS-2 LE BOM' to 'UTF-8'.
