It’s an awful look for Iowa and we should bury the caucus in the deep, dark earth. But it’s also embarrassing watching the media throw tantrums because their product isn’t being delivered on time. It reveals what this is. A lucrative television show that’s lost it’s real meaning.
As for authorities, technologists and political leaders are held on high as if they’re living deities, but they fail all the time. It’s a farce built on America’s obsession with wealth and power as denotations of competence. Plenty of people are wealthy and powerful and failures.
Watch over these next few days. The hosts are still complaining the caucuses had no meaning because they didn’t finish in the scheduled slot and the networks lost their treasured narrative and finale. It’s not about voting. It’s not about progress. It’s a product built on anxiety
What I saw in Iowa was passion, people giving their blood and sweat and tears. I’m sorry the Iowa Democratic Party failed and embarrassed itself, but that’s not the people. And this sneering distaste for the people and continued obsession with entertainment will be the end of us.
