1/ NEW MASS SHOOTING - A TIME SAVING EXCHANGE
2/ A new mass shooting just occurred! Let's Begin:
3/ L: We need to do something! Let's enact common sense gun control! But for reals this time!
4/ R: No, if they didn't have guns, criminals/crazies would find another way to kill people!
5/ L: Yes, but it wouldn't be so MANY people so QUICKLY or so frequently
6/ R: So you want to disarm law abiding people so they'll be defenseless?
7/ L: No, "arms" are fine - "arms" that fire 45 rounds per minute, not
8/ R: But if the bad guys have AR-15s, shouldn't the good guys have AR-15s?
9/ L: No, we're saying NO ONE should have guns that are that effective at killing.
10/ R: But the issue isn't the guns, it's the mentally ill and criminals/terrorists!
11/ L: OK, but there's not even national dbase that can track mentally ill or terrorists across state lines
12/ R: Well, now you want Big Brother to know how many guns people have
13/ L: Well, yeah, like a car: you need a permit, you need to go to training, you need insurance
14/ R: That's infringing on my right to bear arms: FREEDOM!
15/ L: Nope, could care less if you owned all of the guns you want, as long as you keep track of them and transfer title
16/ R: Then the government would know where my guns are and could come take them whenever they wanted!
17/ L: Literally no one wants your guns - if the government came to TAKE your guns, we'd all rise up as you have a right to have them.
18/ R: But IF the government came to take my guns, they'd know how many I had, and then it'd be easier to take them!
19/ L: Uh, so you're going to take on "the government" double wielding AR-15s until they… stop sending police for you to kill…?
20/ R: Well, if they take me, they'll go down with me!
21/ L: It's good to have goals…I guess.
22/ R: And I've got the right to privacy!
23/ L: Sure you do, and we have the right to not need to be strapped to go to church.
24/ R: But the way to beat a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun!
25/ L: Stastically, that's almost never been a factor - the number of murders for every "good guy with a gun" aren't remotely in line
26/ R: But all it takes is ONE to stop it!
27/ L: Right, meanwhile a bunch of armed "help" are running around an active shooter scenes confusing police as they try to stop it!
28/ R: That's their problem: they need to be able to determine a threat from an armed citizen
29/ L: So THEY have to be in harms way because people think they're in a Die Hard movie or a video game?
30/ R: #BlueLivesMatter…uh, except in this instance!
31/ Here, they need to do a better job at telling good guys with guns apart from bad guys with guns!
32/ L: Yet police in other countries with lower death rates by guns (Australia, Switzerland, any other 1st world country here) don't have…

MS13 originated in Los Angeles as a Street gang to protect Salvadoran immigrants in the city. It expanded into organized crime in different Metro areas in the US.

In '04 there was a crackdown and members were deported back to El Salvador.

Jews were forbidden to own guns in Hitler's Germany.
Nothing ensures peace & security better than means and willingness to confront tyrants.
2. Besides, the claim in the above chart is misleading. Gun murder rate in the U.S. too has been declining for decades, even as gun ownership keeps going up. And suicide rate in the U.S. hasn't changed much for decades either. It's just that more of the suicides now involve guns.
3. All I need to change my mind in favor of gun-control is one graph. Cut the statistical subterfuge and show me that. Show me a graph of gun-ownership vs gun-related homicides in America over the last 50 years. That is it. Period.

@davidhogg111 @MiniVanDents The next time you hear a politician call for common sense gun control, listen for the details. You are likely to be treated to a torrent about assault weapons, gun show sales, and other half measures.
@davidhogg111 @MiniVanDents These sorts of proposals are rooted in a theiry of gun control that has been around since the 1960s. The basic idea is that fewer guns equal less gun crime.
@davidhogg111 @MiniVanDents But for this theory to have even a chance at working, drastic reductions in the supply of guns will be necessary. Everything else amounts to security theater.

(Revisiting an old thread) The Second Amendment debate keeps popping up all over the web. The left, liberals, and or Democrats would like nothing more than to repeal the 2nd Amendment, as they feel there is absolutely no need for citizens to be armed.
Now some will argue "We don't want to take away your right to bear arms, we are just asking for common sense gun control." I often get asked a question such as:

The irony of American mass shootings is the mostly White males who commit them target White peers who are most likely to oppose gun control.
In other words, American mass shootings are predominantly White on White crime, at both the societal and legislative levels.
Again, take note that the folk who are most likely to be victimized by White male extremists are the least likely to hold them accountable.
